Trauma & Postpartum Therapy that Helps You
For years, you've learned how to make yourself smaller to survive. You became the person everyone else needed, stayed quiet when something didn't feel right, and ignored your own needs just to keep the peace. Those survival strategies may have helped you through childhood trauma, difficult relationships, or other painful experiences, but now they can leave you feeling anxious, emotionally exhausted, disconnected from your body, and unsure of who you truly are.
Trauma therapy provides a safe, supportive space to heal from the lasting effects of trauma. Together, we'll gently explore the experiences, beliefs, and nervous system patterns that continue to impact your daily life. Using a compassionate, trauma-informed approach, we'll help you regulate overwhelming emotions, reconnect with your body, strengthen your sense of self, and build healthier relationships.
“Change your thoughts and you change the world.”
You've spent so much time surviving that it can be hard to recognize how those patterns are still shaping your life today. What once helped you stay safe may now be keeping you stuck.
You might notice that:
⟡ You shape yourself into who others need you to be and have lost touch with your own wants, needs, and identity.
⟡ You're constantly on high alert, scanning for danger even when everything seems "fine," making it difficult to truly relax.
⟡ You second-guess yourself, struggle to trust your instincts, or feel like you're either taking up too much space—or not enough.
⟡ Your relationships leave you feeling unseen, emotionally exhausted, or responsible for everyone else's needs.
⟡ Rest feels uncomfortable, and slowing down brings guilt instead of peace. You feel like you always have to be doing more to prove you're enough.
These are common responses to trauma, chronic stress, and a dysregulated nervous system—not personal flaws.Through trauma-informed therapy, you can begin to heal the patterns that no longer serve you, reconnect with yourself, and build a life that feels more grounded, authentic, and fulfilling. If you're ready to stop living in survival mode and start feeling like yourself again, I'd be honored to support you. Reach out today to schedule a consultation and take the first step toward healing.
You deserve a therapist who...
...sees you as a whole person; not a diagnosis, a list of symptoms, or someone who needs to be fixed. I believe healing isn't about becoming someone new; it's about coming home to yourself. My approach is warm, collaborative, and down-to-earth, offering compassion when you need it, honesty when it helps, and practical tools you can use long after our sessions end. Therapy should feel like a conversation where you can show up exactly as you are—without judgment, pressure, or pretending you're okay.
Together, we'll explore not only what has happened to you, but how those experiences continue to shape your mind, body, relationships, and daily life. We'll uncover the patterns keeping you stuck, reconnect with your body's wisdom, and build lasting change that feels sustainable. Whether you're healing from trauma, navigating pregnancy or postpartum, trying to conceive, struggling with food or body image, working through relationship challenges, exploring your identity, or simply feeling overwhelmed, we'll create a path forward that fits you.
I don't believe in one-size-fits-all therapy. My work is trauma-informed, LGBTQ+ affirming, and socially conscious, honoring the identities, relationships, and experiences that make you who you are. My goal isn't to fix you—because I don't believe you're broken. It's to help you reconnect with your resilience, trust yourself again, and build a life that feels more grounded, authentic, and connected.

Trauma & Postpartum Therapist in Los Angeles, CA
Virtual Therapy Available Throughout California & Florida
Hi, I'm Leticia. I help adults heal from the effects of trauma so they can feel safer in their bodies, build healthier relationships, and reconnect with the person they've always been beneath survival mode. I also specialize in supporting those navigating eating disorders, pregnancy and postpartum, relationship challenges, and LGBTQ+ identities and experiences.
My work is grounded in the belief that healing is possible for everyone. I know that trauma can leave you questioning yourself, feeling disconnected from your body, and believing you have to earn your worth by taking care of everyone else. You may have spent years surviving, people-pleasing, or carrying burdens that were never yours to hold. You don't have to keep living that way.
My approach is warm, collaborative, and trauma-informed. Drawing from advanced training in trauma therapy, somatic therapy, CBT, DBT, and perinatal mental health, I create a space where you can slow down, feel truly seen, and begin healing at a pace that feels right for you.
I believe in a life where you no longer have to live in survival mode. A life where you trust yourself, feel at home in your body, set boundaries without guilt, and build relationships that feel safe, secure, and authentic. My hope is to help you reconnect with your strengths, embrace your whole self, and create a life that feels grounded, meaningful, and fully your own.
Services
Therapy for Postpartum
You thought you'd feel different by now. Instead, you're overwhelmed, touched out, anxious, or wondering why this feels so much harder than everyone else makes it look. Maybe you're carrying the invisible mental load, grieving the loss of who you were before becoming a parent, struggling to bond with your baby, navigating infertility or IVF, healing after a traumatic birth, or feeling crushed by guilt for not enjoying every moment.
You don't have to carry it all alone. Together, we'll make sense of what you're experiencing, calm your overwhelmed nervous system, process the parts of your story that still hurt, and help you reconnect with yourself—not just as a parent, but as a whole person. Whether you're trying to conceive, pregnant, postpartum, or adjusting to the many transitions of parenthood, therapy can help you feel more grounded, supported, and like yourself again.
Therapy for Eating Disorders
You're exhausted by the constant food noise. Maybe you're stuck in the binge-restrict cycle, obsessing over calories, feeling guilty after eating, or believing your worth depends on your body. You may feel out of control around food, disconnected from your body's cues, or trapped by rules that seem impossible to break.
You don't have to keep living this way. Together, we'll explore what's beneath these patterns, heal your relationship with food and your body, and help you reconnect with trust, flexibility, and freedom—without shame or diets.
Therapy for Trauma & PTSD
You are feeling stuck in survival mode; constantly on edge, disconnected from yourself, or weighed down by experiences that continue to affect your relationships, emotions, and sense of safety. Even when you want to move forward, your mind and body may still be carrying the impact of the past.
Together, we'll work to understand how trauma has shaped your thoughts, emotions, relationships, and nervous system while building practical tools to help you feel more grounded and secure. Using a trauma-informed, somatic approach, we'll focus on helping your mind and body reconnect, so you can move beyond survival and begin living with greater peace, confidence, and authenticity.
LGBTQIA+ Therapy
You're tired of wondering if you'll be accepted for who you are. Maybe you're questioning your identity, navigating the coming out process, carrying the pain of rejection, or feeling exhausted by the pressure to hide parts of yourself to keep others comfortable. You may struggle with anxiety, shame, people-pleasing, relationship challenges, or the lasting impact of discrimination or religious trauma.
You deserve a space where you don't have to explain or defend who you are. Together, we'll process what's been weighing on you, build self-trust, strengthen your relationships, and help you create a life that feels authentic, connected, and true to you.
Couples & Relationship Therapy
You love each other, but lately it feels like you're speaking different languages. Maybe every conversation turns into the same argument, you've stopped feeling like a team, or the distance between you keeps growing. Perhaps you're trying to rebuild after infidelity, struggling to trust again, navigating differences in intimacy or communication, or facing challenges unique to LGBTQIA+ relationships, polyamory, or other consensually non-monogamous relationships.
Together, we'll identify the patterns keeping you stuck, rebuild trust, strengthen communication, deepen emotional connection, and create healthier ways of relating to one another. My approach is affirming, trauma-informed, and inclusive of all relationship structures, helping you build a relationship that feels secure, authentic, and aligned with your shared values.
Somatic Based Therapy
You know something feels off, but you can't always explain why. Maybe you're constantly on edge, emotionally overwhelmed, disconnected from your body, or stuck in survival mode. You overthink everything, your nervous system never seems to relax, or you feel numb, anxious, or exhausted no matter how hard you try.
Healing isn't just about talking; it involves your body, too. Together, we'll gently tune into your nervous system, build a greater sense of safety, and release patterns of stress and trauma that no longer serve you. You'll learn to trust your body again, feel more grounded in the present, and respond to life instead of constantly reacting to it.

What are the next Steps?
Book a free consultation call
I offer free 15 minute consultation calls to all prospective clients. These calls offer you an opportunity to ask any questions about my practice or the therapy process. It allows us the space to begin getting to know one another and ensure that we are a good match, as that is one of the highest predictors for success in therapy.
Schedule your first session
During our consultation call we'll discuss scheduling and find a weekly day and time to meet. I typically recommend weekly sessions because they better allow you to make desired progress towards your goals. Once you schedule a session, I will email you a welcome email to the therapy portal where you will find intake forms and assessments to complete.
Start your growth
In the first sessions, we'll gather information about your history, and solidify goals for therapy. I will also share information to help you understand your struggles and how we can alleviate them. I aim for therapy to feel like a collaboration, so there will be room for you to ask questions and share thoughts or feelings. You can consider these early sessions as a time for us to identify and form our treatment plan. This will allow us to move forward while tracking our progress together.
Frequently Asked Questions
-
My fee for services is $225 per 50-minute session. I have a limited amount of sliding scale slots that will be prioritized for BIPOC or LGBTQIA+ clients. There is no guarantee that any of these will be available at the time you call. Please let me know if you need sliding scale fees during our call. If I cannot accommodate, I am happy to point you in a direction to meet your financial needs.
-
I am currently considered to be an out of network mental health provider.
I am happy to provide you a superbill each month to give to your insurance. Please check with your insurance about your out of network mental health benefits - many of my clients are able to get reimbursement from their insurance.
Why you should consider working with an “out of network” therapist:
No limitations on sessions. We can meet for as long as you need without having to worry if insurance will cut us off, or end coverage, which could abruptly end your care.
Allows me to offer you more flexible, personalized, and intentional care.
Helps me keep your information completely confidential, without needing to share diagnosis or notes with insurance companies.
Allows us to avoid surprise billing issues, which can lead to lapses in treatment.
Lets us focus on what’s best for you, not what insurance says is best for you!

I meet with clients once a week for a 50-minute session.
Research shows that weekly therapy is the most impactful. With this in mind, I ask that you commit to weekly sessions for the first 6 months of therapy to establish care and get the support you deserve. I reserve biweekly therapy appointments for those who are transitioning out of therapy.

In our first session, we will review intake paperwork together. We will talk about how you are feeling about starting the process, and we will collaborate on what feels important to you. The first few sessions may feel like a bit of story telling to catch me up on your history. I also work intentionally to check in and make sure that our work is still feeling like a good fit for you.
